MY Journey

'MY Journey' is a projection mapping piece that was created to participate in the LAMPU Competition 2019 . It was projected on the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, Malaysia. We are lucky enough to win in this projection mapping competition.

From the title of 'MY Journey', the 'MY' represents 'I' as well as 'Malaysia'. It's the journey not just us as a Malaysian but also the journey of Malaysia since independence day. It shows the continuing development of Malaysia since 1957, from uniting different cultures and religions to developing in technologies. Malaysia is now a multicultural, innovative, and internationally recognized county.

'My Journey' starts off with a time machine scene that brings us back to 1957, the day of Malaysia independence. When it ticks on 31st of August, the scene changed to a stain glass designed building with the Hibiscus ( Malaysia national flower ) blooming. Where by flowers bloom represents the begin of good luck and fortune.

Malaysia consists of various races, thus we are rich in cultures and religions. We use the majority of different cultures to represents
in this session: Malay culture, Chinese culture, Indian culture and Aboriginal culture. Each culture were specially crafted.

Malay traditional culture :

Chinese traditional culture :

Indian traditional culture :

In Malaysia, we also have some aboriginal such as  Kadazan, Iban and so on. We combined these cultures into one scene :

Apart from the rich of cultures, Malaysia develops drastically in digital technologies. This technology development session is represented by visual effect graphics that brings the mood of futuristic. We did specially created the astronaut scene to commemorate the success of Malaysia sending our very first astronaut, Mr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, to the space in 2007 :

We then continue to introduce Malaysia significant buildings: KLCC, KL Tower, Penang bridge and lastly entering Putrajaya and it ends at the Palace of Justice.

Language is the most significant cultures in Malaysia. Not just about the difference of languages, there're also words that only we, as a Malaysian, understand. These words are mostly the combination of English, Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, and Dialect. This represents the unity of difference cultures:

This piece is ended with different languages to thank audience for watching. A little surprise was added at the back to show our appreciation to the audience as well as our love to Malaysia.
